eloquence publishers contributed another 300 + titles to the world this week. There didn't seem to be any common themes that popped up, other than the absence of one. I guess the political books are done. Newt Gingrich's Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less came out on audio from Oasis, and a book of comics, Get your War On, by David Rees from Soft Skull Press are about it on this week's list.
The list this week covered 40 different categories , but Fiction, History, and Travel were the most prominent. They were also published by 86 individual publishers, but if one groups all of the various Macmillan subsidiaries together, they are by far the largest contributor this week. Collectively, the university press community published about 40 titles this week.
Night Train to Lisbon by Pascal Mercier and translated by Barbara Harshav from Grove Press took my top honors as the most interesting looking book of the week. Although, a collection of short storied, Invite, by Glen Pourcia from the University of Iowa Press also looked very interesting.
